Regardless, it's unsolicited email, whether anyone wants to call it marketing or not. Unsubscribe from emails you don't want easily. selling an idea, getting word out, pushing a new "feature" is still selling, in my opinion. I agree that it is marketing, for the record. This is especially useful if you signed up for something only to receive loads of spam emails with no obvious.
